Strider was born on March 3, 2025, and is a lovable Bernedoodle—a mix of Bernese Mountain Dog and Poodle. That means he’s smart, gentle, and has hair instead of fur, making him a better fit for kids with certain allergies. With his soft, minky-blanket coat and playful personality, Strider brings joy wherever he goes. 

Named after Aragorn’s ranger name in The Lord of the Rings, Strider is meant to walk beside those in need—calm, steady, protective, and kind. That’s exactly the kind of therapy dog we hope he’ll grow to be.

He is just beginning his journey to become a certified therapy dog. This fall, Strider will start his daily work at Thunder Ridge High School as the very first K9 HERO, joining Deputy Downey to provide emotional support, connection, and comfort to students and staff.
